Critter Swarm

It is just about 10:00 and we have another team out of the gate uploading their game description Critter Swarm

This is one of 9 Calgary games being created from scratch (yup, in 48 hours) at the 2011 Global Game Jam.

We have a great mix of developers on this team, ready to rock and roll – check out the swarm.

And this is only day 2 we have a ways to go. We will update you later on in the jam.

This event has been running from January 28 – 30th at Mount Royal University

Update: This team did an amazing job in the presentation, raising the energy in the room. They have an awesome video demo.

Running the Beefalo’s

It’s Saturday at 9:00 on day 2 of Global Game Jam 2011
Our team of independents who are working as a team for the first time in this event in Calgary on Running the Beefalo’s.

We are in the early stages and lacking sleep but they have listed their game and are on their way to the finish (well, it’s all relative)
Jeff Hangartner, Owen McManus, and Daniel Bidulock give us the quick tour.

Excuse the rocky video, will hopefully get better (or worse) as the weekend continues.

Global Game Jam 2011 – in Calgary – January 28 to 30

Update: These were the bright guys who were producing HTML 5.0 work that was leading edge, so much I think even they were surprised with the results. They blew us away in the presentations and most amazingly none of these guys had worked together but all gained from each other’s experience.

Endangered Zpecies

It’s Saturday at 8:00 in the AM 15 hours into Global Game Jam with 33 hours to go.  Endangered Zpecies is out of the gate.

Here is a quick video of the first preview as we enter early Saturday morning.

We will bring you an update soon, maybe later tonight, depending on how the adrenaline holds out.

Update: Another winner. This team formed from last year’s Global Game Jam and went in to this planning to release an iphone game.
